The latter owner is likely the Egyptian physician Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Qawsūnī who was court physician to the Ottoman sultan Sulaymān I. This is an important bio-bibliographical account of ancient Greek as well as of Islamic physicians and scholars, continuing up to Ibn Abī Usaybi’ah's own day. It encompasses 380 biographies in fifteen chapters.
