Örnek Metin This page is blank but for an inscription stating that the volume was given to ’Abd al-Rahmān ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Muʾayyad during the year 905 AH [1499-1500 CE] in the city of Edirne. The recipient appears to have been ’Abd al-Rahmān ibn ’Alī ibn al-Mu’ayyad-zāde Čelebi, an important Ottoman theologian and legist who was qādī of Edirne from 899 (AH)/1494 CE to 907 AH/1501 CE. He was the first Ottoman to form a private library of over 7,000 volumes. This treatise on medicinal substances was apparently composed for Dhū al-Qarnayn ibn Ismā’īl Dānishmendid, a ruler in Anatolia (in Malatya and Elbistan) from 1152 CE to 1162 CE.
