Scanning from a substitute document. It is said, at the beginning of the preface, that the book, composed primitively in Persian, was translated into Arabic by a named Aboû Il l-Il asan Alî ibn al-Mobârak ibn Mauhoûb, on the order of his boss, Alb Qotlogh-Bek Qaïmasz al-Zaïnî. Qaïmasz, a great lover of the beautiful Q, was Prime Minister of Saïf al-Dîn Ghâzî ibn Maudoûd, atabec of Mosul, and his successor QIzz al-Dîn Masmâoûd. He died in 595 of the Hegira (1199 of J. C.). His life is found in the biographical dictionary of Ibn Khallikân, volume II, page 510 of the English translation. 's date of the year 1210 (1796 by J. C.). Scanned from a substitute document.
