| Notes | It is a money-changer's drawer whose all surfaces are covered with mother-of-pearl and tortoise shell in geometric shapes. It has a hinged cover on the front that opens downwards. When the door is opened, it looks like there are nine drawers due to the way the mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell are placed. However, there are a total of six drawers: one at the top, one in the middle at the bottom, and two on each of the lower two sides. The joints of the box are reinforced with ebony and ivory. There is a metal handle on both sides of the box. |
