یادداشت‌ها Fragment of a woollen cloth, woven in dark blue and buff-colour with a diaper of small octagons enclosing plant forms; quadruple foliations fill the intervening spaces.
Malzemeler ve teknikler Weft faced compound tabby, wool Wool Weaving
Fiziksel açıklama Fragment of a weft faced compound tabby (taquété) fabric, possibly from a cushion or cover, in dark blue and tan S-spun wool. The geometric pattern consists of rows of octagons enclosing crosses or quatrefoils, with smaller crosses in the intervening spaces. There is a possible weaving fault in the middle row, whereby the bottom terminal of the cross design is only half the height of the top terminal, caused by the weaver skipping several rows of the pattern. This suggests the design was worked from memory, rather than a fixed pattern device (information from Frances Pritchard; see reference field below)
