Miss Orwin, the donor, purchased this whilst in Bethlehem. While easily mistaken for a dress front due to its rectangular form, the acquisition record describes how this headdress was arranged.

Headdress, an oblong piece of black cotton with two red cloth ties at the sides, two short tabs at the back, and a piece of elastic and two black cords in front. Row of imitation gilt coins which goes over forehead, behind a band of polychrome embroidery, with a square embroidered panel on top of the head, two red floral devices embroidered at the sides towards the front.
