A tapestry woven wool Cross on woven linen background. Egyptian, ca. AD300-700. Cut around the cross, from a larger piece. Coloured wools and undyed linen. The cross is in purple, with arms of equal length, widening at the ends. At the centre is a white circle surrounded by a red circle, then on two oppoiste arms are blue/white/red circles and on the other two opposite arms are white/yellow cirlces.
