Fiziksel açıklama Bag face for rifle barrels. Long narrow pile-woven stripe with decorative woven panels at each end. There are seven bobbles of coloured wool sewn to one side. At one end attached by coloured strings were originally 14 further bobbles, of which 5 remain. Heavy plaid strip at each end. WARP: white wool; Z2S; 19 threads per inch (71 per dm). WEFT: white wool; Z2S; 19 threads per inch (71 per dm). WEFT: brown wool; unable to ascertain spin and twist; at least 2 shoots after each row of knots; 12-15 knots per inch (48-56 per dm). PILE: wool; 5 colours: dark blue, purple, dark brown, brown, white; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around 2 threads; 114-142 knots per sq. inch (1704-1988 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: 2 cords overcast with red and dark brown wool to form a chevron pattern on the front; 7 small balls of coloured wool survive on the right-hand side and are stitched on as tassels. END FINISH: Lower: panel 6.5 cms. long of plain weave; 2 rows of plaited decoration; main panel of dark blue with central band of 3 red diamonds with 2 white half guls above and below, all brocaded. There seems to be a narrow band of stiffening across the middle. Eleven tassels and part tassels (there may have been 6 more) remain. Five have balls of coloured wool at the end. Maximium length of tassels: 26 cms). Upper: panel 10.5 cms. long of plain weave. Main panel has bracketed diamond in red and is brocaded with some yellow on brown. There is a band on the top and bottom of this panel with a white meander on dark brown ground with brown lozenges. Between the upper panel and the top edge are 2 rows of plaited decoration. The top edge is 2.75 cms. of plain weave, turned and stitched in place. DESIGN: dark brown ground; vertical row of rectangles each containing a central white diamond enclosing a quartered, coloured square.
Üretim No rifle covers for comparison, but NB: T.99-1909 cf: R.D. Parsons (1983) ill. 33 "Beluch camel neck-band (in two parts). "The very fine weave and dark colours are typical of goods made in the Chakhansur region of S.W. Afghanistan. Each arm measures 80 x 13 cms." Also ill. 34 M.G. Konieczny (1979) ill. 44, "Camel collar, Janbegi tribe, Khorasan, Iran. 117 cms." Azadi: (1975) illus. 48 "Yomut? Tufek-bash (guncover), 19th century.. We attribute these guncovers to the Yomut, using their name in its widest sense and know of none other made by other Turkomans".
