Malzemeler ve teknikler Wool Cotton Weaving
Fiziksel açıklama Caucasian 19th century carpet WARP: white wool; Z3S; 17 threads to the inch (65 per dm). WEFT: light brown wool; Z2S; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 10 knots to the inch (40 per dm). PILE: Wool; 9 colours: red, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, light pink, dark brown, light brown, white; symmetrical knots around 2 threads; 81 knots to the sq. inch (1200 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: web of 3 cords overcast with faded blue cotton. END FINISH: Lower incomplete but evidence of some rows of countered soumak with faded blue cotton weft; knotted warp. Upper incomplete; as lower plus evidence of fringe with bands of off-set knotting. DESIGN: Field: yellow ground with bands of stylised blossoms and rosettes with alternate bands bracketted above and below by pairs of stylised leaves. There are some small motifs on the right hand side. Main border; white ground with star-like blossoms in red, blue or green from which extend four small blossoms or leaves on angular stems. Inner and outer borders: blocks of diagonal stripes. Innermost border: dark blue ground with (on the sides) flowerheads in double light brown meander - along the top and bottom the meander becomes a diamond and along the bottom the flowerheads become inner diamonds.
Üretim cf: Bennett (1981) illus. 363 "Chichi...the only example of a Khirdaghyd-Chichi I have seen with a 'crab' border (and on a white ground at that). Second half of 19th c. "Also illus. 357 "the design... following Kerimov and Schurmann has become known as Khirdaghyd-Chichi. Probably late 19th.c".
