The colours used are dark red, mid-red, light red, dark blue, mid-blue, yellow and white. There are double bands of white silk at intervals. Each band is made from 2 x 4 shoots of weft, 0.5 cms apart. The selvedges are plain red. The ends are trimmed with a simple bibila edging. There is about 0.5 cms of weaving and then 4 cms of loose warp threads between the warp and the bibila. In the border the ikat stripes are 0.3 cms wide using two and three colours. In the main part the narrowest stripe is 0.1 cms wide using two and three colours.
