Malzemeler ve teknikler Wool Weaving
Fiziksel açıklama Caucasian 19th century, flatweave soumak WARP: white wool; Z3S; 18 threads per inch (74-76 per dm). WEFT: foundation: light red/brown wool, probably Z spun, unplied; 1 shoot after each row of pattern; pattern: wool: Z2S: 9 colours: red, dark yellow, yellow, dark green, green, dark blue, blue, black, white; 15 threads per inch (56-66 per dm); soumak technique over 4 warps and back behind 2. SIDE FINISH: returned wefts. END FINISH: lower: a fringe 3 cms. long with 7 bands of off-set knotting. Upper: incomplete but 4 cms long with 5 bands of off-set knotting. DESIGN: field: red ground with 3 large stepped lozenges, one green and two blue. The ground is covered with rosettes, S-motifs, interlinked ovals etc. and 'sky-rockets'. Each stepped lozenge contains a central extended cross and small geometric motifs. At the edge of the field there is a reciprocal diamond headed pattern in blue. Main border: dark brown ground with a red zigzag line enclosing half a stepped cross. Inner and outer borders: dark brown ground with rosettes. Outermost border: a red/brown 'running dog' pattern. Along the sides the red is sometimes replaced with blue or yellow.
