Fiziksel açıklama Bag, flatweave, not brocaded WARP: grey wool; Z2S; 17 threads per inch (66 per dm). WEFT: wool and cotton; Z2S except for white cotton which is Z4S; 7 colours: red, orange, yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, white cotton. The back of the bag is woven with white wool; Z spun, unplied, 2 parallel threads per shoot and 32 shoots per inch (approximately 132 dm. counted as 66 per 5 cms). SIDE FINISH: one cord with returned wefts END FINISH: both ends folded and stitched into place. DESIGN: The bag is folded across its width. The back is plain white with a narrow band of brown weft at the bottom. The front is patterned with extra weft floats in seven continuous supplementary weft-floats symmetrically placed on either side of the central band. Working from the bottom: (1) & (7) red ground with alternating white and dark green flowerheads and bordered by a dark blue decorated stripe. (2) & (6) red ground with dark blue, angular hooked meander. (3) & (5) red ground with fine, white, curly-tipped Xs, interspersed with dark green diamonds. (4) central band: red ground with dark green hooked diamonds with small white diamond centre linked by a vertical bar and bordered horizontally by blue, outward facing, saw-toothed pattern. A 2.5 cm. dark brown wool, plaited shoulder strap sewn down full sides (but worn away on the left) and ending in a long, red and green tassel. A 17 cm. fringe of red, green and blue includes siz plied knots of black wool and white cotton. Date catalogued: 21.7.94
