Fiziksel açıklama
Fragment of plain woven linen, with tapestry woven ornament in brown wool and undyed linen. Above the tapestry woven design are traces of three selfbands. The slit-tapestry woven design features three roundels, each enclosed by a foliate scroll border. The middle medallion depicts a lion, and the top and bottom two standing cloaked human figures, possibly a warrior holding what appears to be a shield and lance. Details are picked out in flying thread brocading in undyed linen thread. Some weft areas have been dovetailed. Plain weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 28/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 20-22/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun) 14 ribs per cm
