Notlar This dish appears to imitate similar dishes made in China in the kilns at Longquan, Zhejiang province, commissioned for Middle Eastern markets. They were exported in large numbers as luxury wares in the 14th and 15th centuries. This dish was probably made as a replacement after such dishes ceased to be produced for export.
Malzemeler ve teknikler Fritware (heavily potted), moulded, incised and glazed Fritware Glazing Incising
Fiziksel açıklama Large shallow fritware dish for serving rice, with flat everted rim, the inside border incised with a meandering scroll and the centre with a fluted design. The surface is coated in a green glaze, thining around the raised details, in imiration of a large, late 14th Century celadon or Longquan ware dish. The underside of the base is covered with glaze, except for a ring wiped clean of glaze before firing and covered with a matte brown slip, to rest on kiln supports as large drips are allowed to form on the foot ring.
