Malzemeler ve teknikler Wool knotted pile on wool foundation, symmetrical knot. WARP: cream wool, Z4S; 12 threads per inch (45 per dm). WEFT: cream wool; Z2S; 3 shoots after each row of knots; 7-9 knots per inch (32-34 per dm). PILE: wool; 11 colours: dark red, red, light red, orange, yellow, light green, blue, light pink (may be bleeding from light red), dark brown, black, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 warp threads; 48 av. knots per sq. inch (743 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: both sides missing; added later - 2 cords overcast in mostly purple (faded) wool with some lower lengths in orange and red. END FINISH: Lower 2 cms. plainweave with cream wool weft and , next to pile, two rows of red wool weft twining added later. 2.5 cms. twisted warp loop fringe. Upper: two passes of weft twining in faded purple and then a fringe of 2 rows of knots with loose warp threads, maximum length of 8 cms Wool Knotted Pile
Fiziksel açıklama DESIGN: Field: undecorated red ground. Main border: cream ground; each motif has a central diamond within a square from which 8 triangles expand to form an octagon in all the colours. Inner and Outer borders: pale green ground with 'Z' motifs in various colours, the inner, left hand side border motif being an 'S'./ Guard stripes: the 4 have a dark brown ground (lower) and then a black ground with blocks of solid colour alternating with a flowerhead of 5 white knots.
