Notlar	Illustrated manuscript Qur'an: 219 pages; laid Venetian paper watermarked with a triple crescent moon produced by Valentino Galvani; single column, 15 lines stylized naskh script in thick black ink; diacritics in black ink; some vocalization in red; contemporary annotations throughout in orange, often forming geometric patterns in the margins; opening two surah copied in circular text-blocks framed within bold geometric decorations formed of half-circles and triangles with checkered coloring extending into the margins; catchwords throughout; one loose leaf at the end of the volume. Bound in contemporary camel; corner pieces and central medallions stamped to covers in blind, rebacked and lower edge repaired in light tan leather; 22 x 33 cm. Probably produced in Harar, Ethiopia; dated 13 Rabi' I 1256 AH (May 1840 AD); signed by Muhammad bin Hassan ibn 'Umar, 1250 AH/1834 CE-1326 AH/1908 CE.
