Ms. codex., Title from introduction (verso of first leaf)., Foliation: The text is not foliated because it is out of order., Layout: 18-19 long lines, but most pages have been trimmed along the top or bottom edge which has removed lines., Script: Written in naskh; pointed, unvocalized., Decoration: Texblock is border-ruled in red, double rules; rubrications in red; one diagram in red and black (recto of page beginning Kitāb al-ṣalāh)., Binding: Leather holder with a string to tie it on one side wrapped around the leaves but not bound to them. There is no evidence the leaves were ever bound to this holder which is too small for the leaves in any case., Origin: Item is not dated, perhaps copied sometime between the mid-17th and the mid-19th century. Light brown, non-European laid paper with barely visible lines, visible fibers. | Arabic. | Formerly owned by Dr. Marcus Jastrow and Dr. Morris Jastrow, Jr., Accessioned, 1934. | Access to this item is restricted.
Örnek Metin
Lacunose copy of the first half of a commentary on Wiqāyat al-riwāyah fī masāʼil al-Hidāyah by Maḥmūd ibn Ṣadr al-Sharīʻah al-Awwal al-Maḥbūbī, which is a commentary on al-Hidāyah, a commentary by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī on his own work. This copy has been trimmed such that lines are missing from the top and bottom edge of almost all pages. Similarly, some pages have been trimmed on both sides which also cut into lines. The leaves are also unbound and probably not entirely in order; there are leaves missing as well. The copy contains portions of the text up to the beginning of the section labeled Kitāb al-sharikah.
