Short shot of a manuscript, writing: Italic, closely written Neshî, small style., BSB provenance: The manuscript was acquired on June 4, 1914 "from Constantinople through the mediation of Dr. Karl Süssheim for 220 piastres" from E. Gratzl. Accession number: 1914. - Sheet 1a: Owner's note from the imperial court physician es-Seyyid Mutafâ Mesʿūd el-Müderris v. J. 1214/beg. June 5, 1799, equipment: 1b: Unvan in an elongated form with floral decoration (flowers pink, partly blue, leaves white) on a gold background, the center piece in blue - . 1b–2a: black and gold double frame, otherwise in red. Chapter and section information (often repeated) in red, Koran verses, hadiths and keywords overlined in red. - Custodians. - Thin ivory smoothed paper with watermarks of Venetian origin (lion, C B and lines). Water stains at the bottom and top edge of the booklet. The text is blurred in some places. - On the front of the first endpaper there is a note in a later hand about the translator, the client and the subject of the manuscript, including the title and the author's name in pencil, cover: restored brown leather binding. The original leather cover with a flat-pressed, gold-ground medallion, floral decoration and gold edge strips was glued on the front and back. Contents: Translation of the first book of the famous "canon" of medicine, m. d., called al-Kullīyāt. T. al-Qānūn fi-'ṭ-ṭibb by Avicenna, was at the behest of Sultan Mustafa III (pp. 5a, 9ff.). (1757–74) under the leadership of Rebîʾ I 1182/beg. The chief physician at the Sultan's court, Mehmed Refîaʿ Kâtibzâde (pages 5b, 21ff.), who died on July 16, 1768, was made and published on 1 Zî 'l-hicce 1175/23. Finished in June 1762. - On the R. numerous text additions, corrections and comments
