Before the court, she stated that she wished to abandon the Christian religion and wanted the necessary procedures to be carried out for her conversion to the Islamic religion. She states that she is 31 years old, married for Ali Ahmed Salih, has no knowledge of Turkish, and will henceforth follow the norms of the Islamic religion, familiarizing herself with the other obligations and prohibitions in order to follow them. She chooses the name Gunesh (in Ottoman Turkish).
