Notlar This is a copy of Zād al-Maʿād by Mohammad Baqer Ibn Mohammad Taqi Majlesi (1627-1699) An abstract of his other work Behar al-Anvar, created for ordinary people, dedicated to Shah Sultan Hosein Safavi (reigned 1694-1722) The original was written between 1694-1699 Zad al-Ma'ad is a complex of prayers, supplications and religious orders for use by ordinary people in private prayer during the year. The book consists of 14 chapters giving guidance on religious practices for each month of the year, followed by information for funerals, fasting, and financial obligations. This book was the most popular prayer book before the creation of Mafatih al-Jenan by Shaykh Abbas Qomi. Stamped showing the copy belonged to Mohammad Ja'far Mowla with date: 1897/1314 There are two other given dates on p1 in Persian, including date of birth of Mohamad Rahim, 15 Ramazan 1258 AH. (Common to add dates of birth of children to family prayer books.) A note showing that someone called Heydarkhan had dedicated the volume to Mohammad Ja'far Mowla in 1316/1899. Another unredable note dated 1251/1835 Notes on the text: marginalia + catchwords + text within the gilded gold frame A few of the pages are bound upside down. Scribe: Mohammad Ibn Haji Isameil.
