Page dimensions: 364 x 304, text: 283 x 240.Location in text:Mohl 12b, Kay Kavus fights the King of Hamavaran, first line: 460, break line before: 473, break line after: 474.0, last line: 512.Faramarz kills VarazadFolio number: 005vNotes: Formerly in Geneva, 2005.1.31 (Ir.M. 6/C) Page dimensions: 371 x 306 Text: 287 x 240. See also Welch, I, p. 73, Carey, I, p. 50: both have 'the death of Siyavush in Turan'. Image available on the AKM website, identified as a 'Battle Scene', folio dimensions 380x305 mm. As noted there and by Simpson, 2000, the picture has been pasted onto the text: on the reverse, this is even more evident and the painting must in fact belong to the episode there. The page with the painting is from the reign of Anushirvan: Mohl 41: 117-155-176-207, that is (1) the picture is pasted over 20 verses - but might have included a rubric; and (2) the picture bears no relation to this text, which concerns Anushirvan writing a letter to his officials. The reverse side (the verso: actually marked f. 250 [r?]) starts with v. 224, that is, 16 verses seem to have dropped out. The pasted fragment (on the back of the picture) occurs in the episode of Kay Khusrau's return to Iran, and starts with M. 8, followed by the rubric at M. 15 and the final verse (not in Mohl), after M. 28. In other words, the battle scene on the other side must relate to a battle before or after this, and thus can only be the battle between Faramarz attacking Varazad in Turan, in rage at the news of the death of Siyavush. There is thus some confusion over the correct (re)-numbering - the picture is on the reverse side of the text pasted on the back, but the text is on the recto side (it precedes the text on the back), which is nevertheless apparently indicated as the recto side.Location in text:Mohl 12e, Kay Khusrau comes to Iran, first line: 90, break line before: None, break line after: None, last line: 126.Human fights TusFolio number: 006rNotes: Formerly 2005.1.32 (Ir.M. 6/D) Verso is a text page of 6 columns and 30 lines.
