They were purchased at the Christie's sale of Tuesday 11 October 1988.Reproduced in Folsach, For the privileged few, pp. 87-91, nos. 33-35.Dimensions of the leaves vary slightly: 30/1988: 475x320; 31/1988: 475x315; 32/1988: 475x320; see also Meyer and Wandel, A colorful epic, nos. 33, 34, 45.There is an enormous literature associated with this famous manuscript; see recently the production of the images of the whole text by Sheila Canby, The Shahnama of Shah Tahmasp, 2014.
