Notlar This Persian manuscript is a compendium of eleven works on the subjects of Islamic ethics, Persian poetry, Masnavis, and Religious poetry by several different authors. It was in the Old Library by 1720, when an inscription was made on the front flyleaf by William Warren (1682-1745), Fellow and Librarian of Trinity Hall.It contains: Selection of verses by Nizāmī and Hātifī, collected to illustrate a number of ethical principles; Pand’nāmah (Book of Advice) spuriously attributed to Saʻdī (d. 1292); Qiṣṣah-ʾi mūsh va gurbah (also known as the Fable of the mouse and the cat) by ʻUbayd Zākānī, Niẓām al-Dīn, d. ca. 1370; Two tracts on ethics; Nān va halvā; Religious poem; Religious qasīdah; Bāb davyam dar bayān-i fadīlat-i muhtar-i Ibrāhīm; Tract on courtly etiquette; Short tract on companionship.

Central panel on a light blue ground, divided into three decorative panels, above a panel with text in clouds on a gold ground. 1. Flower design in blue, with ochre stems and leaves against a pink ground, and a blue half lozenge decorated with ochre, red, white and gold flowers; 2. Green leaves against a gold ground, with red and blue flowers, red corner decorations; 3. Gold lozenge outlined in red, on a blue ground with gold flowers, containing the initial word in a cloud.
