The beginning of the manuscript: We praise you, O God, for the foundations of your comprehensive blessings, and we draw from you the stems of your abundant mercy, and we pray and greet the pole of your prophets and the best of your creation in the fields of your selection, Muhammad (...) And then this is a brilliant overview regarding the comprehensive plate that was invented and put in place by the scholar and philosopher Ibn Bas, Sheikh Abu Al-Zubayr in Adwa, may God treat it with salvation.
The end of the manuscript: The astrolabe is placed on the directions that are in the path of the zenith, and God knows best. He has completed, praise be to God, what he intended in terms of refining this treatise and its good rounding and arrangement in the first and most concise article at the hands of its fabricator, Ubayd Rabbuh, and the prisoner of his sin, Suleiman bin Ahmad Al-Fashtali. May God treat him with his continuous kindness (...) and our last prayer is that praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. He finished the handwriting of his aforementioned author through some of his students, so may God reward him well on our behalf, and the servant of his Lord, the Almighty, Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Shawi Al-Helu, wrote, may God reward him with his piety.
