The correspondence concerns a disagreement that arose between the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. and the Sultan as to whether or not he was obligated to fire a formal salute when British Political Officers left Muscat by boat. The issue was taken to the Government of India and it decreed that the Sultan was bound to do so. The letters sent to the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. by Faysal are in Arabic (accompanied by English translations).
