Most correspondence is about the negotiations for the extension of the 1925 Prospecting License agreement in Bahrain, granted from 2 December 1932. The volume also contains: some letters in Arabic from and to the Sheikh of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifah; confidential correspondence regarding the employment of Major Holmes; copies of letters and telegrams on tests and operations made on the oil wells at Jabel Dukhan; and a draft copy of the Oil Agreement (folios 226-229).
