Notlar	This file contains correspondence concerning a number of incidents in which vessels of the Persian Government detained or interfered with Arab vessels in the Gulf. The correspondence discusses the details of these incidents (most of which relate to Bahraini vessels) and also contains broader discussions about how Britain should react to them. On folios 53-55, the file contains the protocol agreed on in the event of a commanding officer of a British ship observing an Iranian warship or customs vessel interfering with a protected Arab vessel. The file also contains an original account (in Arabic and English) of a Bahraini captain named Ali bin Abdullah Al Naaimi written after he and his vessel had been detained by the Persian authorities in 1941 (f 61).
