The papers discuss four possible heirs: Abdullah bin Isa; Salman bin Hamad; Abudullah bin Hamad; and Mohammed bin Isa. The correspondence discusses the role Britain should play in the nomination, as well as how Hamad's decision was to be recorded and made public. It also includes six photographs of Shaikh Hamad signing a document nominating Salman as heir.
