The file also contains a limited amount of correspondence in Arabic, including letters to the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain from Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Jāsim, the Emir of Qatar. On folios 134-135, the file contains a Foreign Office memorandum entitled 'Travel Documents for Persons proceeding to, and for Natives of, Certain British Protectorates and Certain Arab States'.
