Book of Testaments (Vaṣiyyatnāma). Codex, ink, colours and gold on gold-dusted paper, with lacquered pasteboard covers, 10 folios, Persian script in nasta`liq script, with illuminated heading (sarlawh, fol. 1v), painting (fol. 5v, pasted in later, half of a double page composition), and pink borders with gold-painted designs of birds in scrollwork, floral trellis or animals on scrollwork throughout, lacquer covers with paired bird design, Book of Testaments (Vaṣiyyatnāma), instructions from the Prophet to Imām `Alī, colophon (fol. 10r) signed Shāh Maḥmūd Nishāpūrī, probably Tabriz, Iran, dated 923H, 1517.
