Burning and Melting (Sūz u Gawdāz) by Naw`ī Khabushānī (d. 1610). Codex, ink, colours and gold on gold-sprinkled paper, later binding with lacquer vignettes in each doublure, 29 folios, Persian text in nasta`liq script, with illuminated heading (sawlawh, fol. 1v), gold-painted foliate borders (fols. 1v-2r) and 12 paintings, Burning and Melting (Sūz u Gawdāz) by Muḥammad Reẓā Khabushānī known as Naw`ī (d. 1610, Burhanpur), poem composed in India for Mughal prince Daniyal (1581-1614), son of Akbar, paintings unsigned, text copied by `Abd al-Rashīd, Isfahan, Iran, undated, c. 1650-1660, later binding c. 1800-1825.
