Garden (Būstān), by Sa`dī. Codex, ink, colours and gold on gold-flecked paper, pressure-moulded leather binding with Persian poetry, 169 folios, Persian text in nasta`liq script, with illuminated double frontispiece (chaharlawh, fols. 1v-2r), headings throughout, four paintings (fols. 50r, 57r, 59v, 143r) and later (c. 1900-1925, Europe) remargins, Garden (Būstān), by Sa`dī Shīrāzī (d. 1292), calligraphy attributed as if posthumously (fol. 169r), to Sulṭān `Alī Mashhadī (d. 1520), probably Tabriz, Iran, c. 1525, three of the paintings (fols. 50r, 57r, 143r) added Qazvin or Isfahan, c. 1590-1600.
