Fine aspects of Isfahan (Mahāsin-e Iṣfahān), Persian translation of al-Māfarrukhī's Arabic original. An important centre of culture, learning and political history, the city of Isfahan held a proud literary tradition of works listing Isfahan’s urban legends, beautiful monuments, famous visitors and local inhabitants. This book also includes descriptions of the city’s parks, and of the pleasures of spring in Isfahan. The author lived in Isfahan in the late eleventh century, and the translator lived there in the fourteenth century.
