Notlar A letter from the Hashemite court signed by al-Hussein bin 'Ali, the king of Arab countries and Sharif of Mecca. The letter was sent to the princes Faisal and al-Aziz al-Jarba, from Umm al-Qura (Mecca) in Rajab, 18th, AH 1336 / AD 1917 asking them to take care of Jacobean Armenian confession and to help them and to protect them as they protect themselves, their fortune and their sons. It says also to facilitate what they need either in their stay or travel, because they are free non-Muslims enjoying Muslim protection. Those are people who prophet Muhammad makes his will to take care of, and the one who doesn’t do so will be his (Muhammad's) adversary till Judgment Day. King Hussein says: this is one of the most important orders we ask you to do. He ends his letter by praying to God to grant the Emirs to do what he asks them.
