Notlar In order to avoid misunderstandings that could negatively affect the peace and goodwill between the Grand Duke of Tuscany and the Regence of Tripoli, the two countries signed this treaty, with the French chargé d'affaires acting as mediator.The treaty confirmed other treaties along the same lines previously signed by the Grand Duke of Tuscany and the Regence of Tripoli. Moreover, the treaty committed the Grand Duke of Tuscany to grant the Regent a lump sum payment (6,000 piastre), providing that the Regent not expect further payments or presents from Tuscan consuls.
