Notlar Ms. codex.Title from fol. 1b.Yellow thin glazed, laid Arabic paper, flyleaves.Collation: 125 fol. total. 4-5 lines per page, fol. 125b - 7 lines. Misṭara.Written in neat bold naskh in black ink. Rare separators, overlines, occasional sentences and words in red inks. Vocalization, catchwords in black inks. Extensive marginal and interlinear annotations up to fol. 94a and after 117a by different (?) hands in black inks. Wide margins (1/2-4/5 of text width) and wide spacing evidence that the copy was made for study.Binding is well kept, not original; quires are sewn. Damp staining on last dozens of leaves ; first ten leaves with ragged edges restored with paper stripes ; several paper patches ; text unaffected.Incipit: وَاَمَّا اْلمَدْلُولُ فَالتَّحْرِيمُ عَلَى اْلاِبَاحَةِ وَاْلاِثْبَاتُ عَلَى النَّفْيِ وَمَا تَضَمَّنَ دَرْءَ اْلحَدِّ عَلَى اْلمُوجِبِExplicit: اَبْهى اَصْلٍ يَبْتَنَي عَلَيْهِ اْلخطَابُ * وَاَوْلَى قَوْلٍ فَصْلٍ يَنْتَمَي اِلَيْهِ اُولوُالاَلْبَاب - European binding, cardboard and spine covered with a single piece of faux leather of dark brown color ; no decorations. - Treatise on the principles of Imāmī Shi`i fiqh and Islamic jurisprudence, scribed and notated in fine bold naskh.

Kaynak Statement of ownership in Arabic by Muḥammad ibn Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad al-Iṣfahānī "من متملكات الفقير الحقيرمن المذنب الى الله الغني محمد بن شمس الدين محمد الصفهاني" (fol 125b, lower left margin,both in black ink) ; his seal is on fols. 125b, 1a, and 2a. Copy completed in May 1633 "تمت في غرة شهر ذي قعدة لسنة اثنتين و اربعين بعد الالف من الهجرة" (same fol., colophone). Ownership statement and seal by Muḥammad Sharīf al-Sharīf dated 1133 H [1720 or 1721] (fol. 1a). Statement of ownership in Persian in blue fountain pen by Muḥammad Ṣādiq Jār Allāh Ḥamdānī dated 1344 H [1925 or 1926] (same fol.) Note in pencil stating that annotator of this copy Muḥammad ibn Shams al-Dīn al-Iṣfahānī was author's student.
