National Library of North Macedonia

The "St. Clement Ohridski" National and University Library (NUB), located in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, is the largest and most important cultural heritage center in the country. Library; It hosts a rich Eastern (Oriental) collection consisting of Old Slavic manuscripts, rare printed works and Ottoman, Arabic and Persian documents of great importance for Balkan history. In addition to preserving its invaluable physical collections, the institution digitizes rare manuscripts, old maps, photographs and early periodicals in high resolution and makes them available to researchers online through the Macedonian Digital Library (dlib.mk) initiative. By making these valuable documents open access, the National Library of North Macedonia builds a strong bridge between the meticulous preservation of historical texts and the dynamic needs of modern digital research, providing an indispensable resource for scholars working on the Balkans.
