First fol. badly damaged ; stained with water ; loss of text.Chiefly quinions. Catchword on the verso of each leaf ; some quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals (see fol. 26a).Inscription in Arabic script on a repair on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Irbīl 66".Origin: According to colophon, copied by Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAlī ibn Ibrāhīm al-Nawawī for himself, Damascus, 4 Rajab 783 [Sept. 24, 1381] (fol. 240a).Incipit: بسم ... رب يسر بعونك مولاي الفصل الرابع فى ازاله النجاسة قوله - Only the upper cover and the doublure of the lower cover are extant. Apparently contemporary binding, in brown leather over paper pasteboard, with tooling. Embossed leather doublure. Badly damaged. - Second part in a set of three (see colophon, fol. 240a) of a commentary on Rawḍat al-ṭālibīn by Yaḥyá ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī (d. 676/1278), on fiqh.
