Both covers have a central panel with a central red-stamped mandorla and red-stamped corner pieces with religious inscriptions in Arabic. Outer border consists of blind fillets. Portion of the same tooling on the fore-edge flap. Paper pastedowns. - Commentary of the Unmūdhaj fī al-naḥw, a treatise on Arabic grammar by Maḥmūd ibn ʻUmar al-Zamakhsharī (d. 538/1144). At the end of the copy were severals letters, most of them addressed to Dāniyāl Sulṭān (d. 1870), now shelved separately.
