Several small slips of paper with annotations inserted between folios. Fol. 1 and 219 are later additions in European paper with watermark, with inscriptions, including verses of poetry and short definitions. Fol. 2 consists of a leaf of similar paper pasted on the recto of an original folio. Fol. 218 consists of a leaf of similar paper pasted on the verso of an original fol. Inscriptions by another hand on fol. 218a, including the verses "raqqa al-zujāj wa-raqqat al-khamr ... ". On fol. 1b-2a, short text, apparently in the same hand as the inscriptions on fol. 1a, 218a and 219b. Inscription "450" in black ink, using Western numerals, on the pastedown of the upper cover (corresponds to Brill's list ; see Houtsma, M. Th. Silver (or faded gold?) roll on the edge of the paper. The fore-edge flap has impression of the same roll and of a stamp with a leaf pattern. Purple pastedown and free endpaper (green paper for the envelope flap pastedown ; green cloth doublure on the fore-edge flap). - Treatise on rhetoric (ʻilm al-balāgha), based on the author's epitome Talkhīṣ al-Miftāḥ, to which this present work is like a commentary, with material from Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm [by al-Sakkākī] and Dalāʼil al-iʻjāz and Asrār al-balāghah by ʻAbd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī (preamble, fol. 2b). The text is followed on fol. 213b-218a by a gloss by ʻUbayd Allāh ibn Masʻūd ibn Tāj al-Sharīʻah, entitled Ajwibat iʻtirāḍāt fī al-Talkhīṣ wa-al-Īḍāḥ ʻalá Sāḥib al-Miftāḥ, apparently written by the same hand. It is preceded on fol. 1b-2a by a short text written by a later hand on the definition of "al-ḥaqīqah", with an interlinear and marginal gloss.
