The first two pages of the text are framed in a gold and black ink frame (fol. 2b-3a). On fol. 1a-b: Inscriptions in Arabic and Turkish. Between fol. 30 and 31 and between fol. 71 and 72: Short text in Arabic on a slip of paper. Foliation in pencil using Western numerals. Title written on the lower edge of the text block. Inscription in Arabic on a modern label pasted on the upper cover: "al-ʻulūm al-[...] 49". In the introduction, the author states that he composed this work for the sultan Muṣtafá ibn Sulaymān (d. 960/1553).
