On fol. 1a, the title given by a later hand misleading reads "al-Niṣf al-thānī min Ḥāshiyah fī al-qirāʾāt."Physical description: 23-29 lines per page; written in casual naskh in black on glazed, laid European paper. Change in script size (and change of hand?) on fol. 159a after the third rubʻ. Rubrication and catchwords. Extensive damp staining, mild insect damage; fol. 79-80 stuck together. Text legible except for slight damage on a few pages which were previously stuck together.Origin: 25 Rabīʻ I 1172 H [26 November 1758], by Aḥmad Barakāt al-Khannāfī [?] al-Shāfiʻī (fol. 315a).Incipit: قوله كهيعص الى خفيا بتقليل هايا ... [؟] واظهار الدال - Three-quarter red leather with marbled paper covers and flap; red pastedowns and flyleaves. - Volume 2 of an unidentified Qurʾān commentary discussing variant readings.
