Ḥāshiyah on the margins and between the lines of the main text, apparently by the same hand. European paper with watermark. Several inscriptions on fol. 1a and 30b, including ownership statements and verses of poetry in Persian attributed to Mullā Jalāl al-Dawwānī. Inscription in magic script on fol. 30a. Water damage.Note mentioning the birth of a son called ʻAbd allāh in 1123 H. on fol. 1a.Inscription in Arabic script in red pencil on fol. (i)a: "Raqm 209 ʻ".Origin: Coied in 1116 H. (colophon, fol. 29b).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى خلق كل بقدر وقدّر له ما يليق به من اشكال والصور والصلوة على من تمّ بمقدمته رسم دايرة الرسالة والتشريع ... وبعد فان الهندسة مع متانة مسايلها و وثاقة دلايلها بحيث لا ياتيها الباطل من بين يديها ولا من خلفها علم يحتاج اليه الكملة المتفكرون في خلق السموات والارض ... [2أ] ... بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلوة على نبيه محمد واله واصحابه اجمعين وبعد فان جماعة من الفضلاء وطايفة من الاصدقاء التمسوا منى رسالة تكون مقدمة والة فى اقتناء اى اتخاذ براهين العلوم الحسابية الظ انه اراد بالعلوم الحسابية ههنا القوانين التى هى مسايل علم الحسابExplicit: مساويا لج ز الذى هو مربع ج و النصف مع الزيادة وذلك ما اردناه وهذه الاشكال الخمسة الاخيرة من ثانية كتاب الاصول لاقليدس وليكن هذا اخر الكلام والحمد لله على الاتمام والصلوة والسلام على محمد خير الانام تمت الرسالة - Commentary on Ashkāl al-taʼsīs, selected theorems from Euclid's Elements by Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ashraf al-Ḥusaynī al-Samarqandī.
