Gold-stamped mandorla with pendants and gold-tooled and gold-painted decorative edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Leather doublures. Endbands. Mandorla of volume 1 contains an image of a deer. - First and last volumes of a comprehensive work on the Shīʻite system of theology and jurisprudence. Volume 1 covers Kitāb al-ʻAql wa-al-jahl to Kitāb al-Janāyiz; volume 3 covers Kitāb al-Ṭalāq to Kitāb al-Rawḍah.
