Notlar Ms. codex.Title from colophon (fol. 194b).Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in red ink for the commented text and the headings, and in black ink for the commentary. Ḥāshiyah on the margin. Thick dark cream paper, with large laid lines visible. Fol. 1-3 and 195-196 are later additions. Table of contents on fol. 1b-2a. Foliation in black ink using Arabic numerals (starts with "1" on fol. 4a). Loose leaves.Inscription in pencil in Roman script on the pastedown of the upper cover: "IL 411a".Origin: According to colophon, copy completed on Thursday 17 Ṣafar 715 [May 23, 1315] (fol. 194b, followed by a partially wanting reading statement mentioning a ʻAbd al-Majīd al-Shīrāzī).Incipit: وتركنا بعضهم يعني الخلق من الانس والجن يومئذ يوم القيمة وتركنا بعضهم يومئذ يموج في بعض يدخل بتخلطExplicit: ومن شر الناس كانه امر ان يستعيذ من شر الجن ومن شر الناس - Upper and lower cover consist of brown leather over thin paper pasteboards with a large central oblong gold stamped piece with pendants on the vertical axis, outlined in gold with radiating flecks. The outer border consists of a gold guilloche outlined by a fillet on each side. Spine and flap are later replacements of soft peeling light brown leather. Yellow paper pastedowns. - Second volume of a commentary of the Qurʼān, comprising the text from the end of Sūrat al-Kahf (18) (Sūrat Maryam starts on fol. 4b), to the end. The first leaf of the original copy is lost, and the beginning of the text is supplied by a later hand on a later added leaf (fol. 3).
