First two pages of text and first page of colophon illuminated in blue, gold, green, violet, red and salmon. Text area bordered in ruled frame of gold and red. Text fully vocalized. Decorative marginal medallions. Verses terminate in gold discs.Paper is discolored and brittle under gilding. Some marginal repairs. Endpapers are heavy weight aqua paper.Binding is red leather over boards. Envelope style. Spine is plain. Covers have blind stamped, gold filled scroll design frame. Centers have scalloped corner decorations and center mandorlas incised and inlaid with white leather. Mandorlas and corners outlined with blind stamped rosettes. Envelope flap has similar design. Fore edge of flap has single row of blind stamped rosettes in a ruled gilt frame. Red and gold chevron endbands.Scribe identified in colophon as: Abū Bakr al-Zakī Banāfawī (?). - A very nice copy of the Koran.
