Written in a casual medium small naskh in black ink with some use of red for rubrication. Catchwords on the verso of each leaf. Foliation in Arabic numerals in black ink and in Western numerals in pencil. Dark cream paper with prominent fibres. Extensive marginal and inside the text annotation throughout. Extensive water and worm damage to paper with some loss of text. Several short inscriptions on ff. ib, 1a, and 277a-278b.Incipit: حمد من جعل العلم اجل المواهب الهنية واسناها واعلي المراتب السنية واسماها احسن ما يفتتح به الكلامExplicit: وفى غنم مذبوحة فيها ميتة هى اقل تحرى واكل فى الاختيار - Brown leather with blind stamped mandorlas on upper and lower covers. Upper cover loose, fore edge flap present, but envelope flap missing. - A work on fiqh, an epitome of the work called al-Hidāyah by ʻAlī ibn Abī Bakr al-Marghīnānī (d. 1196 or 7).
