Some leaves are missing (see between fol. 6 and 7 ; 26 and 27). Worm-eaten. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "29Y" (repeated in red pencil on fol. 1a).Copy completed on Yawm al-Ithnayn 23 Ṣafar 740 [Aug. 30, 1339] by Abū ʻAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Dayrūṭī (Dīrūṭī?) for(?) [2أ] ... وبعد قد جرى ببعض أندية الادب الذي ركدت في هذا العصرِ ريحهExplicit: فقال اجعل الموت نصب عينك وهذا فراق بيني وبينك فودعته وعبراتي تتحدرن من الماأقي وزفراتي يتصعدن من التراقي تمت قال القسم بن علي هذا اخر المقامات التي انشاتها للاستعراض وناديت عليها في سوق الاعتراض هذ مع معرفتي بانها من سقط المتاع ... ولكن كان هذا في الكتاب مسطورا وانا استغفر الله تعالي مما اودعتها من اباطيل اللغو واضاليل اللهو واسترشده الي ما يعصم من السهو ... وولي الخيرات في الدنيا والاخره والسلام والحمد لله رب العالمين تمت المقامات - Composite binding, with the upper cover made of leather over paper pasteboards (damaged) and the lower cover made of brown leather over paper pasteboard with a central blind tooled star consisting of two interlocking squares filled with knotwork, and an elaborate outer frame. Golden brown leather doublure. Spine repaired with cloth. - Elegant copy of the Maqāmāt al-Ḥarīrī.
