The name of the author appears in a note on the same page as "al-Shaykh al-ʻallāmah wa-al-ḥabr al-fahhāmah al-ḥāfiẓ ʻIzz al-Dīn al-Ḥanbalī", and in the opening of the text as "al-Shaykh al-imām al-ʻālim al-ḥāfiẓ al-ʻallāmah ʻIzz al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz ibn Riḍwān ibn ʻAbd al-Ḥaqq al-Ḥanbalī" (fol. 1b; apparently later hand).A copy of this text by the same copyist dated 18 Rabīʻ II 709 is found in Turkey. See http://faculty.ksu.edu.sa/6858/Pages/Old_Books.aspx, no. 14.Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for entries; the text is vocalized. dark cream paper with laid and chain lines visible; some leaves orange/peach. Marginal annotations. Fol. 1 apparently later replacement. According to catchword, leaves wanting between fol. 69 and 70 ; twelfth quire (fol. 110-119) misplaced: its proper place is between fol. 89 and 90. Purple paper pastedowns and free endpaper. - Collection of ḥadīths, compiled from the Ṣaḥīḥ of Muslim and al-Bukhārī, listing the ḥadīth according to the name of the transmitter, arranged in alphabetical order. A similar collection by Abū ʻAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Fatūḥ ibn ʻAbd Allāh al-Ḥumaydī [d. 488/1095] is mentioned in the preamble (fol. 1b, l. 19-20).
