Headings in larger script in dark red ink. Thick light cream paper with laid and chain lines visible.Decoration: Illuminated title-page in gold, blue and white, with a medallion on the left margin on fol. 2a.Origin: Copy (or text?) completed in Dhū al-Qaʻdah 861 [Sept. 1457] (colophon, fol. 243b).Incipit: ذكر سلطنة الملك الناصر فرج بن برقوق على مصر السلطان الملك الناصر زين الدين ابو السعادات فرج بن السلطان الملك الظاهرExplicit: البهسنى الاقامة بباب السلسلة فى غيبة السلطان حسبما ياتى ذكره لك انتهى الجز السادس من كتاب النجوم الزاهرة فى ملوك مصز والقاهرة - Later type II (with flap) Ottoman binding in dark brown leather over paper pasteboards. Gold-stamped mandorla with pendants and cornerpieces on covers and decorative edging. Similar decoration on flap. Violet paper pastedown and free endpaper. Red glazed embossed paper pastedown on the envelope flap. - Sixth volume of Ibn Taghrībirdī's historical treatise, contanining the annals of Egypt from 801 to 836 H. [1398-1433]. The text starts with the reign of al-Malik al-Nāṣir Faraj and closes during the reign of al-Malik al-Ashraf Barsbāy. After the colophon (fol. 243b), the text continues for half a page on fol. 244a, with a table of contents of the next part, entitled: "Dhikr mā ishtamala ʻalayhi hādhā al-juzʼ min mulūk Miṣr".
